The Prentiss County Development Association recently held its annual Industrial Appreciation Luncheon. The event was attended by local industry representatives, local officials, economic development partners, and PCDA members. The luncheon is held every year to show appreciation for the impact that the local industrial employers have on the community and the economy. Leon Hays, PCDA Executive Director, said, “Each year PCDA looks forward to our Industrial Appreciation Luncheon. It gives the community an opportunity to stop and formally thank these companies for all that they do for our area.”

Those attending heard from guest speaker Skip Scaggs, Executive Director of the North Mississippi Industrial Development Association. Scaggs spoke of the importance of community-minded partnerships that support the growth of existing Mississippi businesses and industry. NMIDA is an economic development agency, formed through a partnership of electrical co-ops and the Tennessee Valley Authority, that covers a 30-county region in north Mississippi. NMIDA works alongside local economic developers in the promotion of the region.

Each year at the luncheon, PCDA recognizes two companies as Industry of the Year winners:

For companies with 100 or less employees, the 2025 Industry of the Year is OnDemand Specialty Vehicles. The one-year-old company has hit the ground running by more than doubling its projected employment numbers. ODSV assembles ambulance units that are distributed nationwide for medical emergency services in communities. Hays stated, “In just under a year, OnDemand has rehabbed a vacant warehouse, stood up a brand-new assembly process, and is quickly becoming a major player in their industry sector. Most importantly, ODSV has made a tremendous community impact by creating employment opportunities and supporting many community events. Prentiss County is proud to have such a great company here.”

For companies with 100+ employees, the 2025 Industry of the Year is New Way Trucks.
